The Guinea Pig :)
I started making sweaters when I adopted Mindy in May 2009 because nothing I could find fit her. She had no neck and a huge chest and even sweaters I made from other patterns didn't fit right. I finally made up my own and it fit her perfectly. I started selling them to help pay for her vet bills when she suddenly became very sick in Sept. 2010. Unfortunately she passed away in Nov. 2010 and I still miss her every day. She was the best dog ever and will always be my baby.
Then came the puppy....
When I got Rosco as a puppy in Jan. 2010 and he outgrew his sweaters so fast that I would have to buy another one every couple of weeks. I had enough of that and started making them so he could grow into them. He's now 4 and thinks that every sweater I make is for him.
Can't forget Copper
I adopted Copper in July 2011 without ever meeting her. I was fostering for a local rescue and became friends with a woman who volunteered at the humane society my foster puppy came from. She kept posting pictures of Copper and I felt so bad for the 12 year old dog who had to be given up because her owner lost his home and was miserable in the kennel. I told her I would take her as soon as my foster puppy was adopted. She was 4 hours away and our first meeting was in the Petsmart parking lot where I met them to pick her up. I haven't regretted it once. She is now 15 years old and is just starting to slow down a bit. She is such a good girl and my only complaint is that she is so demanding! Wouldn't trade her for anything though :)
